A Little About Us

We are sisters and products of the American South. Our story began in the Carolinas over 100 years ago, when our great-grandparents farmed cotton and grew fruit and vegetable gardens for their large families. The harvest provided both a livelihood and provisions during Depression Era times and long thereafter. Even when we were children, our grandparents gave us fresh figs and muscadines and always filled the dinner table with fresh okra and tomatoes from their garden.

In 2012, we embraced our heritage and found inspiration for our natural collection. We gathered and pressed flowers and leaves from local gardens and farms. We admired starfish, conch shells and other sea specimens on our Carolina beaches and the sea islands. We recaptured what we knew and loved, and we designed our first collection of timeless yet contemporary, beautiful natural art prints.

In 2018, in addition to our soft neutral art prints, we added vibrant pops of color to our collection: surprising pinks, cheery tangerines, cool blues, and cinnamon reds. Our art has a modern urban feel that we like to describe as happy, beautiful, and simply made. We are hoping that, whatever your style—you will find it here.

Love,
The Urban Garden Girls,
